Happy Lao New Years!

This weekend I went to the temple in Gerber for Lao New Years. Chinese celebrate with gambling and fireworks, Americans with a countdown, and Lao people celebrate it by festivities consisting of food, dance, and traditional parades. We splash each other with water because it cleans the soul of last year and gives life to a new year. Shaving cream is all just for fun and it looks funny. I basically just hung out with Madison and Precision Dance Team from Sheldon High on Saturday and then headed to the temple for Papaya Salad. Yummy! After that it was just all fun and games with everyone. Maddy got me to dance with all the OGs and we basically just killed it! Later that night I played pong at Davids, saw his cute Pomeranian and then called it a night.

On Sunday it was just another day, but Maddy had to do a pageant thing for the temple. She looked so beautiful in her outfit. I didn't get to hang out with her until she was finished. Got creamed again and dirty. Met her whole family basically and just chilled. After that we all left. I stopped by to say "Happy Birthday" to Ryan who was turning 22! Then called it a night.
